I was adopted at 10 years old I was taken out of a non smokers house and a non alcoholic house and put into a smokers and alcoholic house with 4 kids already. Ruined my lungs. When I was in jr high school I stayed gone by being on the running team. I always wanted to be with my mom but the adopted home would lecture me for 12 hours out of the day saying how trashy my mom was. After I was adopted my adopted mother became an alcoholic she manipulated me. I would had to go nose to nose with her before slapping me in the face. She would make me pull down my pants and bend over to spank me with the belt. I had to sleep in the same room as her own daughter shared a bed while she had sex with the bed while I was sleeping next to her. In high school I did everything to stay gone joined the cross country team track team tutoring community service NJROTC you name it I stayed gone. Ads soon as I turned 18 my bio dad who I had lived with left her and divorced the old alcoholic. She also manipulated me into adopting me for her to be an alcoholic.

There are some great groups for adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents and those considering adoption for example on FB an all inclusive one is Invisible Ties; the name relates back to the 'red thread that binds us' theory. You might find it cathartic chatting with others in the same situation and from the other side of adoption too

The definition of mother is the one who took care of you since young, not necessarily the one who gave birth to you. The lady who did is just God’s agent who God used to deliver him into his Daddy (you) and Mummy’s family. You are already chosen to be his parents by God whether he likes it or not. Have confidence, that you are his father and always will be no matter how time bends. You’re fated to be his father and noone else and so is your wife fated to be his mother and noone else

Well, I also think you shouldn't push him in knowing yet. But, you should explain to him what I have said soon. As, he could be bottling up all these questions inside him which could lead to depression. Once you've explained all of this to him, hopefully he will get the peace of mind and your family can live happily ever after, father, mother and son. And him knowing that mother not necessarily has to be the one who gave birth to you, but that lady who gave birth to him is his aunty or God's agent who helped deliver him into the family he is in from God. Well, just a suggestion, once all of this settles down, you should get for him a sibling so that he wont be lonely.
