Home Style Saturdays
I feel like I’m finally coming up for air. Do you ever feel like that?
Last year was a crazy year and the last few months of 2016 were a complete whirlwind and I know I’ve said that many times before!
But I feel like just now I can actually breathe. The busyness of October to December nearly brought me to my knees! I’ve now realized that I said YES to way too many things.
I’ve always been an incredibly organized person but for the last two years I’ve had to live in chaos, move multiple times, throw stuff in boxes and look away and realize that one day I’ll be able to organize it again.
It’s actually incredibly cathartic for an organized/perfectionistic person to have their life turned upside down for some time. It’s make you reevaluate life, that’s for sure, but it also makes you realize that you can live without the organization, that one can survive and come out stronger than before. I’m so glad I’ve been broken down so I can be reconstructed again.
I’m now settling back into some of my organization ways. Finding stuff in bins that still need to be organized two years later (I just asked my mom if she wants LAST year’s school picture). But now I know I can do it when I can. It’s not life or death and I don’t have to work myself to the bone trying to get it ALL DONE! Because it will never be ALL DONE ever!
Now I’m finding more joy in the simpler things especially with playing with my kids. The house can stay a mess while we play dollies and hair salon or a card game.
I can do both, it just takes me more time, one at a time.
