French Christmas Dining Room with Evergreen, Pinecones and Banners

My French Vintage dining room is all decorated for Christmas with evergreen, banners, brass candle holders and pinecones.

Wooden dining room table, with pine cones on it, a gold mirror on the wall, a mora clock and a wooden chandelier above it.

This year I decided to use more natural greenery in my classic French Christmas dining room with evergreen, eucalyptus and banners. I couldn’t wait to go outside and clip these evergreens for quick decorating. I also bought a bundle at a local hardware store but you can also buy evergreen where you buy Christmas trees.

Today I’m participating in the Styled + Set Holiday Entertaining tour hosted by my friend Lory of Designthusiasm. The tour will run all week so be sure to check back for all the daily tours!

I have little ‘Merry Christmas’ banners all over my classic tree that I cut from a long ribbon and wanted to replicate that with a large banner over the mirror and little ones on wreaths on the backs of the chairs.

Last year’s Christmas tour was just featured in this months’ Cottage & Bungalows (a 14-page spread!).

A Mora clock behind the table, a flocked Christmas tree beside it.

The French wicker jug I made for the centrepiece with sprigs of eucalyptus and cedar branches clipped from my backyard.

I added more cedar branches along the middle of the table like a table runner with glittered bells and pinecones.

Neutral linen napkins with wooden napkin holder and a sprig of eucalyptus.

I love these plate chargers, they are faux cedar chargers! Then I paired creamy-white plates with linen napkins that I made and I used mini grapevine wreaths for a napkin holder with a spring of eucalyptus.

White plates, silver cutlery, evergreen, and pinecones on table.

I just love how the fabric banners turned out. They each say Joyeux Noel and I also made the little wreaths as well.

My collection of brass candlesticks look lovely against more cedar branches and the banner with the French gold mirror.

I love how natural, rustic and French my dining room looks this year.

  1. Oh my gosh Jamie…I love this! I can’t wait to find out how you made the banners. Such a pretty room for your family celebrations. Happy holidays!

  2. Jamie, it always fascinates me how you can style a completely different looking table yet maintain your true voice and signature look. This one is beautiful and I’m loving the greenery and natural table showing through! The banners are so fun. But then again, everything you put in this stunning dining room is golden!

  3. This is the best! I have to say that of the dozens of blogs to which I subscribe, yours seems to make my heart sing the loudest. This year in particular a majority of bloggers proudly announce they are going “simple” and then follow through! I don’t know whether it’s lack of time or a true desire for simplicity, but it seems as if it has been a long time since I read a blog post in which there was true creativity throughout the room or rooms being featured, not a showcase for items purchased, usually at great cost, at a popular retail store or website. The result it that the styles of so many bloggers are so similar their sites are becoming boring. Please keep continue your lovely and creative efforts. I adore your style.

  4. Jamie this whole table really just speaks my language!! Love your adorable little banners, and the natural greens and pinecones are so pretty. But I especially love the greens in your wicker wrapped bottle – so cute! You really do the most beautiful tables!

Wishing you a happy holiday season sweet friend!

  5. Your Christmas banners are the definition of simple elegance, so quaint and beautiful. The way your sprinkled your room with lights makes everything so warm and inviting. A truly love room.

I have featured your Christmas dining room at this week’s Waste not Wednesday link party and am always excited to see your gorgeous projects.

    1. Thanks Paula! Unfortunately, they are from Pier 1 which is no longer around. I did a quick search online and couldn’t find any other place that sells them. But I did find this boxwood one on Amazon (affiliate link) https://amzn.to/32LJA4V
      Hugs, Jamie
