DIY Summer Cloche Tray

In this post I will show you how to make your own DIY cloche tray from a pie plate!

I’ve had a glass cloche for years. I’ve never really used it because I couldn’t find a tray that fit the bottom.

It’s a tall, skinny cloche but the bottom flares out. I’ve tried putting it on a plate but it looked funny and planter trays were never the right size. Then I thought of a brilliant idea! I tried out a metal cake pan.

Perfect fit! But I didn’t want it to look like I stuck my cloche on a cake pan so I prettied it up!

I got a cake pan from the dollar store and spray painted it with a oil-rubbed bronze color {from Krylon}. I primed it then added two coats of the ORB. After that I hot-glued some rope around the outer edge to give it a nice nautical summer feel.

Voila! A simple tray for my neglected cloche.
