Easy last minute Halloween craft skulls - So Much Better With Age

These easy faux zinc skulls can be painted in two steps. So super easy to create for Halloween!

Did you notice them on my mantel from my Halloween Home Tour?

I’ll show you just how easy and fun they are to make.

SUPPLIES:

Two skulls before the painting.

TUTORIAL:

1. Paint your skulls black and let dry.

2. Put some of the metallic paint on a paper plate, dip the chip brush in and offload most of the paint onto a paper towel. Dap the brush all over the skull to get that zinc look.

That’s it!

You can see my other Faux Zinc Paint Technique to see how I did it in more detail but it’s the easiest paint job with the best effect!

Painting the skulls a faux zinc.

I love the aged look it adds to my mantel during the Halloween season.

Just enough spooky to add to a house with two small children.

Although I think this black owl is scarier.

Make sure to pin it for later!
