Eucalyptus, Pears and Roses Table Runner Centrepiece

A step by step guide to table setting with seeded eucalyptus, pears and roses as a table runner centrepiece is a unique and beautiful way to decorate your dining room for fall.

If you already know me, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of soft neutrals. Last year I decorated my dining room with purples and greens and I’m carrying on that ‘no orange’ fall tradition but I’m using different natural and organic objects to decorate this year and I’ll show you how you can recreate the same look in your home.

I’m excited to be participating in a fall tour with today! If you’re visiting from Cherished Bliss, welcome! Be sure to visit all the other tours at the end of the post.

My most favourite thing to decorate with for fall is white pumpkins and heirloom pumpkins. They can be so difficult to find that last year I also made my own heirloom pumpkins. This year I wanted to try fall natural materials that maybe you wouldn’t think to decorate for fall with. Items that will really draw your eye in.

Also, instead of a traditional centrepiece, I wanted to make a stunning table runner full of soft flowers so I used seeded eucalyptus (I’m obsessed with it this year and it’s also my favourite colour), pears and cream/pink roses.

The list of items needed to set the table.

What You’ll Need:

  • white linen table runner
  • 4 bunches of seeded eucalyptus
  • 2 dozen cream/pink roses
  • 9 pears

First I started by laying a white linen table runner down the middle of the table bunched up throughout.

Then I used 4 small bunches of seeded eucalyptus. You might not need as much if you find bunches that are bigger.

I placed the eucalyptus bunches down with stems pointing to the centre and tucked the rose stems into the eucalyptus.

Finally I finished it off by adding the green pears throughout.

A simple sprig of pretty eucalyptus on a linen napkin on a plate is the only thing else needed for this stunning table setting.

I love this fun, unique take on decorating for fall.

Few Extra Tips

I moved the eucalyptus and roses the next day and made it into a floral arrangement because I wanted the flowers to last. This table runner centrepiece would look gorgeous if you left them on the table as they would dry nicely laying on the runner. I cannot be sure, though, if the eucalyptus and flowers would stain the runner if left to dry there for many days so you might want to lay something over the runner just in case to protect it such as some plastic wrap or clear plastic bags.

  1. Beautifully done and your home is gorgeous Thank you for giving us the info of how to and the items needed God bless

  2. Love your table — have you thought of using water tubes for the flowers? Keeps them fresher on the table, both for the meal or if you choose to leave them there and will also make sure they stay fresher even longer if you remove then to arrange elsewhere. They are pretty reasonably priced on Amazon (100 for ~$14). This gives you plenty for the future — do I see Christmas greenery and red roses for a holiday table?

  3. Simple and yet luxurious! And so beautiful! I love anything with roses in it. And paired with the green of the eucalyptus they look so elegant. The pears are a nod to the bounty of the Fall season.

I don’t have a formal dining room, just a small eating area open to my kitchen. But I have squeezed my grandmother’s oak buffet onto one wall so I use the length of that to make long arrangements like you would make for a table runner. I think your combination of the roses with the eucalyptus and pears would look great on my buffet. It wouldn’t be as long, but still beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing your creation.
