French Country Fall Dining Room

I want to share you my decorated French country fall dining room and stunning French inspired chandelier.

French Country Fall Dining Room - So Much Better With Age

I’ve been a busy bee getting my home decorated for fall. This week I showed you details of my dining room table setting, my living room and front door area.

Today I’m sharing my dining room look along and joining 13 other fabulous bloggers for a French Country Fall Tour with Soft Surroundings and Romantic Homes magazine.

A big thank you to Janet from Shabbyfufu for inviting me and organizing this incredible tour. Let’s get started!

Purple and green dining room decor.

I have to say, there are two very favourite things in this house that I love 1) my faux limestone fireplace and 2) this French chandelier.

A soft light purple tablecloth.

Two things I wanted in my other house but didn’t get until now. Those two things completely change the look of the spaces.

This mora clock was on clearance at a Restoration Hardware outlet. I bought it the moment I bought this house. I love the metal but maybe one day I’ll get a real mora clock.

There is a round gold mirror hanging above the wooden shelving unit.

I decorated with a lot of purples and greens because I’m not a fan of orange. I wanted to see if I could decorate for fall using natural elements but not with the typical fall colors.

I think I succeeded. This linen tablecloth and napkins I purchased in France when I went in May for The Academy.

I also bought the matching French linen apron. Such beautiful quality.

The seeded eucalyptus and heirloom pumpkins are favourites of my for fall too.

This mirror from Soft Surroundings and it’s part of their antique collection. It’s from France from the 1900s.

It’s super heavy and the real deal. The back showed lots of wear and looked like old book pages were glued to it.

I think it works perfectly in my French inspired dining room. LOVE it!

This gorgeous gold bar cart is also from Soft Surroundings. I use it for pies! A rolling dessert cart.

I have my favourite apple pie recipe on my blog but I’ll be posting my blueberry pie recipe soon.

I LOVE baking and making my own homemade pastry is the best, I’ve been doing it since adolescent. It is an odd hobby but I love it.

I even did a beautiful candlelight dinner shot. Now it’s time to eat!

Before you leave, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of the powder room that is just down the hall from the dining room.

I haven’t shared this room with you yet so here is a glimpse of the finished room.

I got this Marie-Amalia mirror in small from Soft Surroundings as well. It’s the perfect touch!

I’ll share with you soon how I did this wall treatment and the design sources plus more before and afters.

Did you know Soft Surroundings also has clothing. I got this comfy Marina pullover, perfect for fall. I’m kinda obsessed with stripes.

I love the design of this sweater, it has rough edges, a nice longer length and I love the neckline. I got it in petites and it fits great.

So glad you were here for the tour and thank you for being one of my ‘lovely readers’!

  4. Good morning Jamie,

Your dining room is so pretty. The autumn decor compliments it so well. Usually I don’t like placemats on top of a tablecloth but the round ones are like a ruffled charger. I am stealing your idea. Hope I can find just the right ones! Linda

    1. Hi Linda, thank you so much! I got the ruffled placemats at Michael’s. They were in a bunch of different sizes as a set. Hope you can find them in the US stores.
      Hugs, Jamie

    1. I’m a bit crazy, Lory, if you haven’t already noticed lol. Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I loved being on this tour with you.

  7. Just beautiful. I especially like that gorgeous table cloth; what a beautiful color. I have linen napkins almost that same shade. I think these tours sponsored by Soft Surroundings and Romantic Homes are my favorite ever. I’ve gotten so many wonderful ideas from all the participants. I love the colors you’ve used to welcome fall. I’m not really a fan of orange either, and I love the way you’ve incorporated non-truadional fall hues in your decor. Love it!

    1. Thanks so much, Jeannie! I’m so glad these tours were able to inspire you. I really wanted to see if I could decorate naturally for fall without orange and I think it worked!
      Thanks for being here.
      Hugs, Jamie

  8. Absolutely gorgeous, Jamie! I love that you chose colors that aren’t traditional for fall. And I can’t believe you baked those pies! Really wishing I had some over here.

  9. oh my, I LOVE your decorating style! I actually read your fireplace post some time ago when you originally posted it, and I didn’t save it (I was looking for fireplace mantels as I am building a house) but I remembered there was someone out in blogosphere who wrote a post on fireplace mantels… and now I have found you again, this time through the Fall home tour and this time I am saving you to my bloglovin’ feed!
Anyway, I absolutely love your home and your Fall decorating. I love the French chandelier too, it looks like it is Aidan Grey, is that correct?

  10. Where were the round place mats purchased? I have been looking for some exactly like that and can’t find any anywhere.

    1. HI Neomi, I bought that Michael’s here in Canada. They were sold in a set and were labelled doilies I think, not placemats but were with all the new fall decor. Hope you can find them!
      Hugs, Jamie

  11. I love your cane back chairs and have been looking for similar ones. Could you please tell me where you found them?

    1. Hi Melanie,
I got them at a local shop here in Vancouver. I’m trying to see if they will sell them online! Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
      Hugs, Jamie

  12. I’ve always known nature does it best, but it teaming up with your talents just makes nature smarter! Goodness Jamie, this room is magnificent! The soft hues all over the place would most certainly erase those darker BC coast rain filled days!

I’ve featured this in this weekend’s DIY Salvaged Junk link party. Thanks for linking up!

  13. I adore every element in this beautiful room Jamie. The softer hues for fall are perfect and that chandelier is divine!! A thoroughly gorgeous post!!
Thank you for sharing at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather this week. I’m delighted to be featuring your French country fall dining room at tomorrow’s party and pinning too.
    Hugs,
    Kerryanne

  14. Hi Jamie, I always love your style. You are really talented at styling. I love the picture in your dining room in gold frame old looking. Now you have your mirror. I would llove to buy this if you don’t like it in your home any more. I love this. I am gld you showed he mag. I didn’t know they have the farmhouse issues so I couldn’t image the older Country Sampler mag. Sincerely, jenny Main
