Painted Christmas Trunk
This metallic painted Christmas trunk is the perfect gift holder for under the Christmas tree.
I love Christmas. When I was a little girl, I’d say around 10, I remember specifically singing in front of the Christmas tree all by myself. My own one-person choir.
I just wanted to soak in as much Christmas as I could. Then I went for years not celebrating Christmas so now that I have kids, I love to go all out for the Christmas season.
I love the vision of a trunk filled with presents by the tree. I’ve had this old trunk sitting around for so long it was the perfect candidate to paint!
Let me show you how I used metallic paints to turn an old wooden trunk into a painted Christmas trunk filled with presents.

Doesn’t a trunk overflowing with presents by the tree sound the best?
Here is the old trunk before. It was left behind the previous owners and had a curved lid that was broken so I removed it.
The inside I painted with Brushed Steel, Fusion Mineral Paint metallics collection.
The beautiful shimmer from these paints match my tree perfectly!
For the exterior I used metallic Champagne from Fusion Mineral Paint.
The one side I stencilled this cute Happy Holidays sign.
And the other side I changed it up with this cute stencil then wrapped a big grey velvet bow around it.
These angel wings are normally in my daughter’s room but I brought them down and stuck them on the wall with command strips.
I love the wings on this wall!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here!
Fusion Mineral paints has many paints and stencils to make beautiful Christmas projects for your decor!

Looks so amazing! It really is looking like Christmas around there.
Thank you! xoxo
Beautiful job on the trunk. I simply must order some of those beautiful metallics. Thanks for the inspiration. Susie from Chelsea Project
Thanks so much, Susie! Merry Christmas

I really like the angel wings hanging on the wall in these photos. Where can I find some?
Hi Rachel,
I believe I got it at Antique Farmhouse or its sister store, Decor Steals but things don’t stay there for long, you have to check it often. Painted Fox is a similar store that usually have similar but keeps more things in stock.
