Tartan Plaid Christmas Decor in the Kitchen + Video
I’ve decorated my kitchen for Christmas in tartan plaid and I’m loving it! Be sure to visit all the farmhouse vintage Christmas decorating ideas in this post.
I just shared the plaid Christmas decor in my living room, the snow glob cloches on my mantel and DIY plaid ornaments so in keeping with my plaid theme, I’m decorating with a plaid pattern my kitchen.
Today I’m joining a Farmhouse Christmas tour hosted by my friend Sheila of Maison de Cinq. If you are coming here from Liz Marie, welcome! Be sure to visit all the beautiful Christmas tours at the end of this post.

I love decorating in neutrals and the same is true when decorating for Christmas so choosing buffalo plaid is definitely going out of my comfort zone but I love it!
Especially in my kitchen, the colour just pops against all the white.
(I bought four of these faux eucalyptus wreaths this year and they are such a great price!)
I decided to wrap the inside of my one glass kitchen cabinet. The tartan looks so pretty!
Adding a few touches to the open shelves like the plaid flannel ribbon and cow bells changed the whole look with a few simple decor touches.
I brought out my vintage wooden sleigh and added candles to it like I did two years ago. Last year you might have remembered I added gingerbread houses to it.
Tying some flannel ribbon to some of the taller candles along with some red berry garland added just a bit of red to match the rest of the plaid details.

Jamie, your Christmas kitchen is an absolute holiday delight. I love how you’ve used a variety of plaids in unexpected ways to create such a cozy look! Your green glassware, bottle brush trees and pedestal vignette trimmed out with plaid ribbon make a charming composition on your open shelves. Thank you for generously sharing your creativity.
Love that plaid decor, thanks for the great inspiration.
Pat
Hello Jaime!
I am new to your blog, as of last week. As I was perusing I came across a printable “Joyeux Noel”, is this still available? Your blog and style is simply magnificent!
Regards, Karen
I have always loved Tartan plaids. Tablecloths, runners, ribbon, throws etc. I have collected many. They have a wonderful history and something that has been a delightful part of making Christmas even more beautiful…. Your Kitchen is proof!
Merry Christmas.
Lovely! You have just enough holiday decorations without going overboard. I really love it!
