Every year I make this big heart cookie for Valentine’s Day. Every year for as long as I can remember. I used to make a cake and I didn’t have a heart shaped pan so I used one square pan and one circular pan and cut the pieces in half to create a heart. I never thought it was worth it to spend money on a heart-shaped pan to use only once a year.
Well I was wrong! I ended up finding this heart-shaped cookie pan at Michael’s years upon years ago and every year I put it to good use. It can use be used for anniversaries or numerous other occasions.
Anyway, I’m so glad I ‘broke down’ and bought it.
It’s not fancy but super adorable which I think is Valentine’s Day is all about.
Both my kids’ birthdays are around Valentine’s Day so it’s a fun extra treat for the kids. It’s easy to cut into chunks like bars or have them break pieces off.
My all-time favorite chocolate chip recipe is the one from the Hershey’s Chipits bag. I’ll leave the recipe below for your convenience.
I use my mixer every time I bake so I can whip these up in no time.
Once you have ingredients blended, you’ll want to press the whole amount into the heart-shaped pan.
Normally you don’t need to grease your cookie sheet but I made sure to grease this sheet very well to prevent sticking.
