Vintage Christmas Mantel + Video
I finally get to show you my Christmas mantel! You know how obsessed I am with this mantel of mine. I haven’t even lived in this house for a year yet and I’ve shown it off more times than any other part of my house (like for fall, DIY heirloom pumpkins and Halloween!) Well of course the mantel is going to get decorated for Christmas! I’ve had this vision in my head of garland draped to the ground with ribbon since I moved in (that was spring BTW).
I’m participating in a Home for the Holidays tour hosted by my friend Kelly of My Soulful Home so be sure to check out all the beautiful tours at the end of this post!

I wanted vintage looking stockings and couldn’t find any so I came up with a pattern and sewed them. French/European looking stockings.
I’ve shown you my glittered and jewelled Christmas tree quite a bit now (I’m in love with the flocking!) so it was about time I moved a few feet over to show you the mantel.
Well, it wasn’t decorated until yesterday so that was the reason why I didn’t show you.
I’ve been busy sewing those stockings and antiquing the mirror! You can find out how to antique your own mirrors by clicking here!
I love this old old sled years ago at a local antique shop. It’s the perfect holder for candles since I didn’t want to leave them near the garland on the mantel I used it in my Holiday Housewalk two years ago.
The garland is Fraser Fir by Balsam Hill, two 10′ long garlands.
I just gathered the grey velvet ribbon with twine and tied it to the garland. Easy peasy!
I love this velvet ribbon and the way it drapes down to the floor. So luxurious.
This beaded chandelier from Antique Farmhouse is always in my Instagram shots too. It’s famous!
I’m so in love with how my stockings turned out…I cannot wait to share with you the pattern I made this coming Monday!
I used French linen that I bought during my trip to France this year.
I love how my Christmas mantel turned out this year!
Especially since I didn’t really have a place to decorate last year while I was waiting for this house to be renovated…it’s been so fun to decorate this year!
Now be sure to visit my friends for their beautiful Christmas tour or vignette all weekend long!
Be sure to watch a short video on my snowy vintage Christmas decor!
Make sure to pin it for later!

Jamie – I adore your home! I empathize with your spring time Christmas decorating as we were both deep in renovation last Christmas time. The mantle, the tree, those stockings from French fabric – Christmas slay – mean sleigh! Seriously though you are slaying me with your style! Well done -enjoy every minute in your beautiful home with your sweet children this year!
haha Kelly! You’re hilarious. Thanks for your sweet comment, friend.
Hugs, Jamie

Please let me M.E. know where you got your mirror on the mantel or how you antique it
Hi Dianne,
The mirror was a find at a local shop closing but I have a post and video on how to antique mirrors as well as a PDF you can download.
