How to make curtains with blackout lining

 You just followed Step 1 -2 in how to make curtains with blackout lining.

Now let’s go on to Step 3!

STEP 3

To measure the blackout lining, follow steps 1 & 2 adding 1-2 inches all around for leeway. You may need to stitch extra blackout fabric together to make enough for one panel. If you do, make sure to allow a 1 inch seam allowance. It doesn’t need to look pretty as you can see mine is all bunched up.

STEP 4

Now take your fabric curtain panel to the ironing board {leave the blackout lining for now}. Fold over 1/2 to 1 inch along each vertical side of the panel. Iron into place.

STEP 5

Tuck the blackout lining under one side of the vertical curtain panel. Pin and stitch into place.
