Hi, I’ve just been really curious about antique French cutting boards, and bread boards I’ve seen some (upwards of $150 at Antique stores. Aren’t they just for looks? Are they safe to with all the old cut marks and use from the past? And if not, do you know of a company that makes them in the old style?
Thank you for your help.
Laura
Hi Laura,
Yes they are pricey and they are essentially just for looks, like any antique home decor item. I use them in my kitchen when entertaining. I’ll put a piece of parchment paper over the board and use them as a charcuterie board or display a cake with parchment paper. There are many companies that are replicating that circular board but I haven’t found a company that makes one that looks like an antique. You could try Etsy.
