So this is our kitchen before and after. It’s actually the one room in the house that didn’t get a complete overhaul if you can believe it. The previous owners tried to do some updates for resale value. They left a beautiful french door style LG stainless steel fridge, a Fisher & Paykel gas stove (amazing!) and granite countertops.
We tore down the upper cabinets near the stove and just installed two pendant lights from Restoration Hardware and had a custom vent made.
The remaining upper cabinets had some glass fronts installed and of course I had it all painted white with new hardware and hinges. We also added penny tiles for a backsplash.
Unfortunately, because the previous owners installed granite countertops, it was nearly impossible to match the granite for some additions. We added a bar near the eating area and a desk area (will show you soon) and a mini butler’s pantry (will show you soon :). We went with black to somewhat match. I wish I could have done honed granite but because the old granite was polished we had to try to match that look. I think it looks pretty good regardless.
