Kitchen Eating Area – Before and After

Check out these before and after pictures of my kitchen eating area that I updated into the perfect kitchen nook!

Today I’m going to show you before and after pictures of our kitchen eating area. I turned it into a cozy eating nook!

Warning:  the photos you are about to see are very reminiscent of the 80s.

I took these photos when I first toured the house.

BEFORE

There was a massive chandelier in here that just didn’t fit. Also the laminate flooring, the paint color, everything was wrong! The previous owners didn’t even have window coverings.

AFTER

A round wooden table with white chairs and a new light fixture.

I had made the ticking and toile curtains that look soo pretty in this area.

The round table was a Craigslist find and the chairs are from Ikea.

The previous owners had a chair rail and wallpaper on the bottom half of the wall. We removed the wallpaper and added beadboard and a bigger trim. We also added a new rustic farmhouse light fixture.
There is a small topiary in the middle of the table.

I made the chalkboard as well. Just a big old frame with a piece of MDF covered in chalkboard paint!

Striped curtains are in the kitchen.
I love the rustic farmhouse feel in our new kitchen eating area!
There is a small clock on the wall in the kitchen.

UPDATE:

I have a new kitchen light fixture!

New kitchen light that is round with a chandelier look.
