Pumpkin String Art
I made a creative pumpkin string art that gave a different look to the average pumpkin.
I have wanted to try string art for a long time and thought that maybe using a pumpkin would work because the nails would push in nicely.
And it worked!
I’m also joining 31 other bloggers as we’ve been showcasing all sorts of fall decor this week: mantels, holiday wreaths, fall tablescapes, and today – thrifty crafts!
Okay, you know how much I love my neutrals. Let me show you how I transformed a pumpkin into string art.
First I decided to paint the pumpkin. I wasn’t planning to but orange is just too bold for me and I had some Fusion Mineral Paint leftover so I quickly painted two coats on the pumpkin.
Then I printed a large ‘FALL’ off the computer.
I pushed in two nails to hold up the paper and got to work.
Using standing 1 inch flat head nails, I pushed them in, outlining the words.
Then I just ripped the paper away.
Using black and white twine, I tied a knot to a nail on one corner of each letter and zigzagged back and forth.
After zigzagging back and forth, I made sure to go around the outline of the letter a couple of times to make sure it was more pronounced.
Then I just knotted the end of twine around a nail.
Isn’t this the best fall DIY tutorial?
