I love Using muted soft colors for fall and these decorating ideas show you how easy it is to incorporate into your home too.

I love muted colors and neutral cohesive decor and I usually decorate for fall that way too. I want my fall decor to work seamless with the rest of my house and not stand out too much.

I’ve been decluttering my house for over a year now and I’m loving the openness of more space. I say a year because it’s been a long process and there’s been a lot of shuffling of things around and many trips to the thrift store donation drop off. We also got rid of a huge storage unit this year so it’s been so refreshing to not have it.

With having only items I truly love around the house, it’s made decorating for the seasons so much easier.

I painted some foam pumpkins in a creamy white color (Champlain from Fusion Mineral Paint)and glued on a real pumpkin stem.

My French wooden cutting/bread boards look so good against the stark white subway tile.

I put in more beige faux fall leaves in a vase (demijohn) like I did in my fall dining room and some of the muted color pumpkins (heirloom pumpkins) I painted.

I also found a fall candle that I love – too delicious smelling to pass up! Here is a similar pumpkin spice candle or diffuser set.

My fall leaves on the mantel dried up pretty quickly so I added some more faux eucalyptus and berry stems like in my fall dining room and moved a chair in closer to the fire to cozy up and read a good book.

The books on the side table are The Little Book of Hygge and The Cozy Life.

My favorite mug is from Anthropologie.

  1. Thank you for sharing your fall room tour. I love the pressed leaves and all the muted pumpkins. And I could see myself cozying up to that fire and reading those books! Happy Fall.

  2. Sooo in love with the beige fall leaves. I can’t find anything neutral. Do you mind sharing where you got yours? Thank you!

    1. Hi Melody,
I found that demijohn at Home Sense years ago but I often find them at vintage shops or thrift stores. The original ones have wicker on them and I have a few small ones like that.
