Simple Summer Mantel with Peonies
This simple summer mantel with peonies is the easiest thing you’ll do for summer decorating.
Simple is always better especially in the summer when we spend most of our time outdoors. An easy way to decorate for summer is with flowers.
I’m teaming up with some amazing bloggers to share with you our Easy DIY Mantel Decor (or Summer Vignettes) hosted by my friend Krista of The Happy Housie. Be sure to check out all the inspiration at the end of this post!
(The large French laundry basket above is from my friend Maria of Dreamy Whites)
Sometimes I tend to overdo it. For something to really catch your eye, I feel like it has to be a LOT but I’ve been leaning towards a lot of simplicity lately.
My house is overcrowded with all the projects I’ve done for my book. I love my projects but I don’t need 70 extra things in my house. So there is a lot of extra stuff in my house and the more I look at it, the more I want to become a minimalist.

I’ve loved peonies for as long as I can remember. I know they are a favorite flower for many people now but I loved them for as long as I can remember as my grandma used to grow them in her garden.
I added one pink and one white peony to one milk jar with water for a total of 5 and that’s it!
You can find a link to the milk jars here. I bought mine at Michael’s.
Flowers are also the easiest things to photograph. If you want to play around with taking photos, start with some flowers!
I’m congratulating myself on keeping it simple. There’s nothing wrong with going all out but keeping things simple like peonies in milk jars is a refreshingly easy to decorate for summer.
Now be sure to visit my friends with their mantel decor or simple vignettes.
Make sure to pin it for later!

Keeping things simple is a real challenge for me, it’s seriously so hard! So, this simple mantel appeals to me way beyond the gorgeous peonies. But, I fell hard for these stunning flowers when I found them in our new home’s garden, it was love at first smell. xo
I know, I totally get it, Laurie. It was fun to do super simple this time 😉
