White and Gold Kitchen Inspiration
I am collecting some white and gold inspiration ideas for my kitchen renovation.
What’s the first room you look to when you’re house hunting? For me it’s the kitchen.
When I look at houses on the MLS I go straight to the kitchen photos. It’s the floor plan I’m looking at. I actually hope the kitchen isn’t new because chances are I won’t like it.
And that seems like a waste to renovate a recently updated kitchen.
People, if you are trying to sell your home just LEAVE the kitchen alone. The uglier the better! The house I’m renting right now is great for space but the design picks..UGH.
New-ish yellow cabinets, black and white flecked granite and the backsplash I thought was old but it’s actually new…brown tile with brown grout.
There’s also brown-ish paneling around the kitchen walls. I thought this was old too. Nope. It’s new.
I’m not sure what the owner was thinking with these updates but it actually would make me NOT want to buy the house.
Good thing I didn’t. It’s a great place to rent but it seems like such a waste to pull out brand new granite, okay cabinets and new brown (gag) tile just because of aesthetics.
Okay, so all this kitchen talk has got me thinking about my NEW kitchen at the Sweet Little Bungalow.
Here are the ideas that I have floating around in my head.
{Oh, and I need your help with a decision!}
This is the first mood board I came up with.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with beautiful French hood ranges.
I would die to have one but they are sooo expensive.
I mean come on…I’ll take that whole kitchen please.
Okay, so I had to give up that dream. First, my new kitchen is not that big. Second, I can have a kitchen OR a range hood. I’d like both.
So I’m getting one custom made kinda like this one from Little Progress Notes.
Or this gorgeous one in my friend Krista’s beautiful kitchen.
The other thing that is a major starting off point for this kitchen is the faucet.
Now before you fall over, let me prepare you, I’m going modern with the faucet.
I know!
Words you’ve never heard from me on this blog.
But isn’t it gorgeous?
The other super important feature (for me) is the light fixtures.
I was going to go with these ones from RH.
But then I was thinking maybe these ones?
Seeing as this kitchen is just for me and my kids I thought I should just pick whatever I want that’s girly.
What do you think though?
Should I do the pendant or the French inspired chandeliers?
Then I think I’ll add some glass knobs to the cabinets. More jewelry 😉
White shaker cabinets something like this but not quite.
The same sink I had at my previous house.
Bevelled subway tile with very thin white grout.
I’m having this gorgeous wood flooring throughout.
Dansk Monterey Wire Brushed Weathered Saddle (Oak)
For the appliances I’m getting Jenn-Air counter-depth refrigerator and gas stove.
What do you think of my white, gold and sparkly kitchen inspiration?
UPDATES:
I ended up picking this light fixture:
And #6 cup pull and #7 glass knob.
I loved the pendant! I like the touch of gold rim and the gold chains. I think it’s feminine without being overly so!
Thanks for your help, Lori!

hey girl love your ideas! I think the light fixture instead and I just love farmhouse sinks! Can’t wait to see your house!
You mean the pendant rather than the chandelier? Okay, thanks for your help! I appreciate it 😉
Hugs, Jamie
Wonderful choices – white , gold, and sparkly. Pendant is classic – goes with every style. I’m personally getting a little tired of seeing chandeliers in kitchens and bathrooms. Go with your gut. You have exceptional taste in decor and you have to live with it.
Thanks for your help, Maureen!

It’s going to be gorgeous! I’m with you on those range hoods. I think they take a generous sized space to pull of and the right range, of course. Following along!
Thanks so much, Shauna!

Hi,I love it – but the source for the flooring isn’t working?Would you be so kind as to provide it? Thank you.
Hi Cheryl,
I’m not sure what happened but the link is working now and I also wrote under the image the name of the wood 😉
Hugs, Jamie
Thank you! I love the flooring!
I’m leaning towards the pendant myself 😉 Your kitchen is going to look amazing no matter what lights you pick. You have great style and those choices are gorgeous!
Thanks for your help, April!

Your choices are all wonderful, and your kitchen is going to look amazing. You have such a talent for pulling a space together. I love being able to share this new journey with you- watching a house being turned into a home is always exciting. About the light fixtures – they are both beautiful, but I do love the touch of brass on the chandelier. I did recently remove similar RH hanging pendants from my kitchen for one reason only – I was always cleaning out dead flies, moths or ladybugs from them – GROSS, I know. We live on 4 acres of woods, and flying insects are always a problem because no one remembers to slide the screen door closed.
Oh that would be a problem, Liz! I never thought of it. Thank you for your sweet words!
