How do you decorate a long, narrow living room? It How do you decorate a long, narrow living room? It can be so challenging when there are multiple points of entry to the room.

I make sure that the size of the furniture is not too big for the space. This is probably the most important feature. Having a large rug that takes up most of the space is the second most important feature, do not add a small rug with small furniture. The sofa is not too big and the marble coffee table is narrow in size to allow plenty of room to pass through when walking through this room daily.

I move the armchair by the window next to the sofa when I have company over but keeping it tucked out of the walking path is perfect for the day to day.

I’m not worried about the TV and fireplace being next to each. And the fireplace is also not directly across from the sofa anyway, which made this space challenging in the first place.

But I also don’t like TVs above fireplaces so it was a win win!

Decorating long living rooms can be a challenge but it’s definitely doable!

Are you team non-fluffy bed or fluffy bed? I’ve h Are you team non-fluffy bed or fluffy bed?

I’ve had my non-fluffy silk duvet for years and I love it! But I see now that this thin bed style is becoming a thing. Bedspreads are back and so are layered blankets. And I’m all for it!

What do you think?

Probably because I’ve been doing it for years. But for me, it’s been out of necessity.

Necessity because I don’t like sleeping with a big fluffy duvet.
Necessity because I love my silk duvet that keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Necessity because I like a calm, serene bedroom without a lot of pillows.

Whether it’s a full bedspread tucking right under the pillows or a coverlet draped over the bed or a mix of different coverings, I’m here for it!

But I have no idea what to call this style, do you?

Let me know if you love this style or are a big fluffy bed kind of girl.

My home has always been so important to me. Not ju My home has always been so important to me. Not just because I’m a homebody but I’ve always found that when my house is cluttered or disorganized, I can’t think. I have a hard time making decisions. The environment you surround yourself is so important for your mental health.

So fluff the pillows, light a candle and make a cup of tea to feel at peace.

Did you see my list of best timeless paint colors? Did you see my list of best timeless paint colors? 🖌️🫟

Picking new paint colors can be tricky and especially white and grey paint colors - they need to be tried out on the wall first. Different undertones pick up different colors from your environment and outside your windows. I used to buy paint sample pots and paint them directly on the wall or on white poster boards but either way, I’d be left with a ton of paint pots.

I found a new way to sample paint on the wall rather than buying little paint pots. No more mess and more waste.

You can also move them around the house to check the color in different lighting during different times throughout the day.

I love using vintage items for parties like my dau I love using vintage items for parties like my daughter’s 14th bday party. We used lots of vintage crystal bowls and silver platters. It makes such a pretty display for candies and treats.

Crystal bowls are easy to find at thrift stores. One test while thrifting to see if the bowl is crystal and not glass is to flick it with your fingernail. It should make a ting sound, not a thud.
