Creative Greenery Spring Mantel + Video
Here’s a creative way to decorate for spring using greenery and moss on your fireplace mantel or decorate a bookshelf or cabinet!

I love finding creative ways to decorate for the seasons. I used greenery with plants, moss and vases to decorate my mantel for spring.
I’m participating today in the Seasonal Simplicity Spring Series mantel/vignette blog hop hosted by my friend Krista of The Happy Housie. Be sure to visit all the spring inspiration at the bottom of this post!

I do not have a green thumb but I’ve been wanting to change that. I used to love house plants but about 20 years ago I bought a ficus for my new loft and it had aphids. I exchanged it for another one and it had the same problem. It also dripped some sort of sap all over my new hardwood floors. That one plant made me not want plants in my house again!
Green is my favorite color so obviously this would be a ‘natural’ way of bringing that color back into my house and slowly but surely I’ll get my green thumb back (I’m hoping anyway!).

I picked up a few plants from Ikea recently and added one to a crock that I already had and I found two new planters from Home Sense.
The wire and terra cotta planters I’ve had for years and are my favorite.

I also added some moss to these wire baskets (I found at a garage sale eons ago) to add more greenery to my mantel.

I had two large vases I wanted to incorporate and so I added large pillar candles along with some spanish moss and forest moss to them.
I love how they look with the plants and wire pots.

The Antique Glass Mirror is a project from my book, French Vintage Decor.
I love the easy and creative way the mantel came together for spring. I hope this has inspired you to look around your house to decorate for spring this season.
Now be sure to visit all my friends below and see their spring mantels/vignettes.

Where did you purchase the wire pots? I’m from Victoria, B.C.
Hi Jaime, where did you get your mantel? I want to order one like it. Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you.
Hi Lynette,
I got mine locally made but I’m sure you can find something locally where you live. It’s a cast stone fireplace: https://somuchbetterwithage.com/cast-stone-fireplaces/
