Christmas Plaid Table Setting + Video

I will show you how I decorated my dining room and table for Christmas this year with mixes of different plaids.

Decorating with plaids has been so fun this year! I started with my mantel, then the rest of my living room, the kitchen and today I’m showing you my lovely table setting in the dining room like you would for Christmas morning.

I’m also participating in our Canadian Bloggers Christmas Home Tour hosted by Christina of The DIY Mommy and Shannon of Home Made Lovely. So be sure to follow along with all the tours this week (at the end of this post).

Table Setting

You might recall I decorated my cozy fall table setting with this same tablecloth although it’s not a tablecloth, it’s a blanket scarf!

(that one is currently sold out but here is a similar one)

I made sure each holiday table setting had one of my DIY Christmas crackers. I still love my vintage Christmas plates from Pottery Barn but they don’t sell them anymore but I found these nostalgic ones that I love just as much.

A santa vintage looking plate, and coffee mug with a horse on it on the table.

For an easy table setting centrepiece, I added a buffalo plaid scarf to the bottom of a dough bowl with some wrapped Christmas gifts in plaid paper and ribbon along with some pinecones.

Tree and Wreaths

I added the gold crown I used on last year’s tree again. I bought it at The Cross and they have a similar one online.

Sparkly flocked Christmas tree with a tartan ribbon wrapped around it.

I added wire (I just used picture hanging wire) to the base of the crown so it would stay put where I wanted on the Christmas tree.

I added minimal decorations on my tree along with the glittery letters M E R R Y  C H R I S T M A S but it’s kind of hard to see in this photo. I bought the letters a couple of years ago at Michael’s but they have similar ones on sale at Pottery Barn.

I still have the same trees that I bought two years ago but this year I switched them around so the living room flocked Christmas tree is now in the dining room.

I love turning our pre-lit Christmas tree lights on with the Tree Mote. You just plug your tree into the adapter and the remote turns it off and on! No more searching to unplug the lights from behind the tree!

Merry Christmas glitter decorations on the tree.

I love the eucalyptus wreaths I bought this year too. I was worried the wreaths would look too fake but I’m so impressed how good they look for such a great price!

(the wreaths have sold out currently but here is a similar one at the same great price!)

  1. Everything looks so beautiful Jamie! I’m absolutely loving all things plaid this year too, there’s something so classic and nostalgic feeling about it. You’ve worked it in so beautifully to each space this year, I’ve been pinning every one of your posts for inspiration! So cozy my friend!

  2. I have been looking everywhere for green plaid wrapping paper this year, just like the paper on the gift under the tree in your photo, where did it come from? I am kind of an OCD/obsessive theme wrapper and I always get myself in this boat. A plan and no way to execute it. LOL

    1. Hi Karen,
I just added the link above in my post. Plaid wrapping paper is hard to find and this one is reversible! I bought 2 packs b/c I loved it so much. It’s Hallmark brand too, good quality.
      Hugs, Jamie

  3. Jamie, where are your Christmas stockings? Love the plaid! All you need to do now is go to J Crew and find your matching outfit! I am making stockings for my daughter, her guy, and her dog, from old sweaters, vintage trims, feathers, etc. Tis the season! Happy Holidays! Claudia
