Thumbprint Cookies Made in a Mini Muffin Tin - So Much Better With Age

These thumbprints cookies are made in a mini muffin tin so they are a bit larger and easier to add jam too. The perfect Christmas cookie!

Large Thumbprint Cookies

These thumbprint cookies are made using a mini-muffin tin so they come out perfectly sized and have enough room to add lots of your favorite jam!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup raspberry, strawberry or cherry jam
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar (confectioner’s sugar)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
  • Cream butter and sugar together. 
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla. 
  • Stir in flour and baking powder.
  • Scoop by spoonful into mini-muffin tin. Press an indent in each one with your finger or thumb.
  • Spoon jam into the middle of each dough ball. 
  • Bake for 10-12 min until edges begin to brown.
  • Cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar.

  1. Hi! This recipe looks great! I just had a quick question – have you ever tried making these with regular sized muffin tins? I’m looking for a great base to fill with lemon curd, jam, and creme pat but worried about the full-size shortbread burning or cooking unevenly. Thanks!
